LEADERSHIP AS MEANS TO COME TO POWER, A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF NAPOLEON
"A true leader uses any problem, no matter how serious or sensitive, to ensure that in the end we emerge stronger and more united than before"
Napoleon represents one
of the most important animals after the revolution against the human race on
the farm, since he is the one who takes full control after the unknown
disappearance of Snowball, this is how Napoleon later becomes the leader Of all
the animals, he was the only one who could make decisions and could do what
suits him. According to the narrator we can say that Napoleon was a boar of the
Berkshire breed, this breed is characterized by large black pigs. It also looks
fierce. He doesn't talk much, but he has a reputation for always getting his
way. He then became the leader of Animal Farm, is revered as a hero by the
other animals.
Napoleon shows his
first rebel attitude and does on his own, when he decides to negotiate with
neighboring farms for a commercial purpose, since that decision goes against
the most important part of the Animalism law that is "Everything that
happens about two Paws is an enemy "and obviously Napoleon did not. In
addition to this, another very important aspect is that which has been decided
without consulting with the other animals, as a symbol of power over others.
Another attitude that
Napoleon shows as an authoritarian leader, is that he shares the benefit of his
owner when he establishes that all pigs have to live in the house of the human
being (previously declared a museum) and gives the order that his comrades pigs
as well as the Have to sleep in beds. From my point of view this decision is
not good as a leader since Napoleon is the one who establishes the rules of animalism
and therefore must comply if, like other animals, those laws said "No
animal will sleep in a bed" and "All the animals are the same.”
On the other hand,
Napoleon, having all the power over the other animals towards what he wanted,
even broke many rules of animalism as we mentioned before and also in addition
to sleeping in a bed he acquired the habit of drinking alcohol. All this as it
shows that Napoleon dignifies a change from an animal to a human, that is to
say that he came to possess the same characteristics and attitudes of those
beings that at one time eradicated them for their bad actions with others.
The most irrational
thing that Napoleon made with an authoritarian leader was to kill another
animal, simply because they disagreed with him. However, to the rest of the
animals this did not seem strange to them, otherwise they supported him since
they were submitted before Napoleon.
Now that the revolution
is over and Napoleon has exercised all control, the animals remember him for
the executions and deaths of his companions, with the chickens, the goose, the
sheep, and other animals, who suffered and were sacrificed because supposedly
He had committed treason against Comrade Napoleon and they were allied with
Snowball. From that moment the animals no longer knew what to do or think about
themselves, whether to feel fear for humans or their comrade who is now
Napoleon who has so far committed many disastrous things.
